2008 Singlehanded TransPacific Yacht Race
2,120 Miles across the Pacific, San Francisco to Hanalei Bay, Kauai
|
If you’ve been thinking about the Singlehanded TransPac, then 2008 is the time to go! This is the 30 year anniversary of the very first SSS TransPac held back in 1978, and there is every indication it will be a great fleet.
TransPac starts on July 12 from the Corinthian Yacht Club in San Francisco Bay, and finishes at beautiful Hanalei Bay, Kauai – a tropical paradise in every sense. The chase boat will meet you as you cross the finish line and hand-deliver your beverage of choice while the skippers and families cheer your finish from 'The Tree' on the beach. This is not your ordinary sailboat race. This is the Singlehanded TransPac, done SSS style. Now with 30 years of tradition. Don’t miss this experience of a lifetime! Results & Position Reports
Current SSS TransPac Record Holders: Monohull Ray Thayer Open 60 "Wild Thing" 10 days, 22 hours, 53 minutes Multihull Steve Fossett ORMA 60' Trimaran "Lakota" 7 days, 22 hours, 38 minutes |
